WorryWoo Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by WorryWoo for the review free of charge.****

I am always on the look out for cute products for my kids, and one of my absolute favorites is a company called WorryWoo's. What is a WorryWoo? "The WorryWoo Monster were first seen in a New York City art exhibition in 2001. Originally called The Monsters in My Head, Creator Andi Green wanted to illustrate characters that each embodied an emotion. From their humble beginnings the WorryWoos are now taking the world by storm with their message of Embrace your Emotions, Find your inner "Woo"."

I recently received a WorryWoo named Twitch who is the monster of Frustration. Each and every WorryWoo is a vibrant, funky and fun creature featuring a number of colors, fuzzy hair, wings and more and they each have a book that goes along with them and tells their story. Through out his book it illustrates how frustrated Twitch gets when he isn't doing something quite right he will stomps, yells and quickly gives up! But as we all know that giving up too fast isn't the way to go! You will travel with him on his journey to figuring out how to fix the problems he is having. I think the books are eye catching and keep the attention of young children by offering creative, colorful and exciting illustrations and short sentences on each page because kids can become bored with looking at one photo for too long. Each page looks like a beautiful watercolor and perfectly shows the emotions the Worry Woo is going through. The Worry Woo plush itself is well made, soft and can handle quite a bit my daughter has a few of the other characters and they have been all over the place with her and still look the same as the day we received them. The books are Hard cover and have thick pages.

There are currently Six WorryWoo monsters who are each matched with their own emotion. I enjoy that you can purchase just the plushes, just a book or buy them as a set and they are now also offering a WorryWoo Educator's Kit which includes ALL of the plushes and the books that go with them. Price wise I think they are fairly priced and 100% worth what you pay for them, each set is $36 for a book and stuffed plush. Shipping is fast it will arrive within a weeks time and both the book and plush will come individually wrapped ensuring they arrive to you in the best condition possible. Think the WorryWoo's are simply adorable and can't get enough of them? You can also buy WorryWoo decor for your home. Please head over to the WorryWoo site and check out all the fun waiting for you.

Halloween is a big time for my fiance & I, Every year we throw a Halloween party and we love to coordinate themes to dress up as whether it is just us as a family or with all of our friends included as well. This year since Halloween is on a Friday we wanted to incorporate the kids more since we won't be doing as much trick or treating so I've been planning things to eat, games that are geared toward the kids and a candy table with treat bags! Thinking about what all I would need I remembered that I will need spooky signs, invites and more to go along with the party. A fantastic Digital collage sheets shop on etsy called Vectoria Designs came to the rescue and agreed to a review along with a giveaway.

Not all of the designs I reviewed are shown in the first set of photos, If you would like to see how they all look please visit Vectoria Designs. I choose a few of the images to run as tester prints to see how they turned out and I am absolutely excited about how well they turned out. I only used regular printer paper this time around but I think they look wonderful next I will be using card stock to make them stand up a bit better then paper. I think the designs are overall fantastic and offer a lot of details, and they can be used for more than one occasion which I think is wonderful. Everything in her shop is under $5 which makes it affordable as well, not finding what your after? Feel free to message Vectoria Designs about a possible custom order maybe you want your name added or have a color changed? I found the service to be fast, friendly and professional. I would purchase digital needs from her in the future and hope that you have a look around her shop and find something you like as well. Cast Shadow Studio Review & Giveaway

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Cast Shadow Studio for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

My house is much like my blog in being out of the Ordinary, My home is filled with dragons, gargoyles, fairies and more. Recently while I was searching around online I found a wonderful shop called Cast Shadow Studio, that creates and sells a number of Gargoyles and other assorted statues. Cast Shadow is ran by a Artist named Richard Chalifour who is both quite friendly and professional. I have the pleasure of working with Richard on a review and giveaway of one of his Gargoyle statues named Irving.

When I received my package not only did I find a Irving Gargoyle statue but I also received a Vined Dragon Tile. Irving measures approximately 3.5" tall by 1.5" wide with the base being 1.5" Dia. He is the perfect size to sit on your desk, in a planter, or really anywhere you want him displayed. I will be keeping mine on a small ledge above my computer desk. Irving was inspired by one of the many terracotta reliefs that decorate a prewar building, 81 Irving Place, NY. The street is named in honor of the famous author of "Sleepy Hollow" & "Rip Van" Winkle...Washington Irving. "Small Irving", from Cast Shadows Studio, sits at three and a half inches tall upon a one and a half inch diameter base. Each sculpture is individually hand cast and finished so is unique in color and feel. A lot of hard work goes into each and every piece sold by Cast Shadow Studio, you can tell just by looking at his work. Some of the gargoyle statues I have come across do not offer a lot of details since it makes it more difficult to get out of the mold, but the statues and other assorted pieces by Cast Shadow Studio offer a wide variety of details in each piece.

Each piece is light weight but sturdy, I would have no issue putting these on display in my garden because they are high quality and I feel they will withstand the weather. The pieces are smooth and well made, I didn't see a single thing on either piece I didn't like. Above you can find a show case of other items offered by Cast Shadow that I enjoy. The shipping was speedy and it was well packaged, each item was wrapped in foam and set in the center of a stand directly in the center of the box to prevent them from bouncing around or becoming smashed. Another small detail I noticed is that his last name is on each piece which is wonderful for those wanting to know where it came from, and when it was made. I am very happy with both products I received from Cast Shadow and I think you should head over and check them out as well! Their products would make a great new addition to any garden.

PRIZE ALERT:
One lucky reader is going to win a Irving Gargoyle statue of their own!

July LootCrate Review!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

If you weren't signed up for July's Lootcrate box you sure did miss out! I thought I was excited last month with the Transformers theme, I can honestly say I am blown away by this months theme 'Villains'. Lootcrate has teamed up with Marvel to bring you Looter only special items and fun surprises such as Rocket Raccoon #1. When I pulled up to my house after work yesterday I saw a little black box sitting on my porch and became instantly excited because I knew my monthly LootCrate was waiting for me. Every month around the time of shipment I try to avoid any talk about Lootcrate to stop myself from seeing spoilers because the best part is getting to open it to find what's inside.

What are the July items you ask? This month's box included a Looters only Joki Villain T-shirt which was made by the Lootcrate team themselves using Loki and the Joker for a mashed image which in my opinion looks fantastic. Second are the exclusive Rocket Raccoon #1 comic along with a Harley Quinn and Joker posters curtisy of Marvel. Next up is my personal favorite item from this box which are the Deadpool socks, Deadpool is one of my personal favorite characters and now I have a pair of socks with his mask on it. Inside of the box there was also a Darth Vader Key Chain, Necessary Evil DVD which is a DC comics & Warner brothers film, a Bowser Magnet and this months Lootcrate collectable pin. Something I thought was a cute added detail to this months box was the "Graffiti" on the inside of the box it was a fun way to tie everything together for the Villains theme.

I personally think that LootCrate would make a great gift for any comic, video game, or cartoon lover in your family. LootCrate ships to the US,Canada,The United Kingdom and Australia. Loot Crate is $13.37 a month [plus s&h] the site guarantees $30+ worth of goodies in your box You can sign up for just a one time box or you can sign up for 6 months to a years worth of boxes & you can use the code “LunaMoon10” you will receive 10% off of your purchase price. A little craft project I wanted to share.

Depending on how long you have been reading my blog you will have seen that last year I received a few Borderland's Cosplay masks which I gave to my fiance as a Christmas gift. Along with the masks I wanted to give him something that was unique and would protect his masks, but I couldn't find anything I liked so I decided to make my own. I've made jewelry in the past, I've done special effects makeup but I've never sanded and painted something so I was nervous about making something I enjoy how it turned out in the end though. This isn't really a guide or a review I just wanted to share a few photos of my project in hopes it will inspire me to create more!

It took me a while to find the perfect sized box, I originally wanted a pirate treasure chest shaped box but decided against it due to budget. After check out a few Micheal's stores I finally found the box I wanted at Hobby Lobby and it was on sale so I only paid $6 for the box can you say score! I then purchased Paint Primer, Red Spray paint, Black spray paint, thin foam blocks and an exact o knife from walmart and began the process.

I printed out the Borderlands logo on regular computer paper to use as a template since I knew my lines would be wobbly and cut it out with an Exact o knife. There were a few rough edges to the box so I used sandpaper to smooth them out, after removing the hinges the box was ready to be primed. The entire box inside and out received a layer of white paint primer and left to dry over night. Next I sprayed the insides red and the outsides black and yes I meant to get a little black on the inside I wanted it to be a little messy since Looters in Borderlands make everything from items they loot. After letting the paint dry on the insides and outside of the bottom of the chest along with the inside and sides of the top, I added an area of red to the top which is where the symbol would be located. I let this dry and placed my cut out over the designated spot keeping it in place with a little bit of scrapbooking sticky tape. I used black over the entire top covering the extra red from the symbol making sure to completely cover it then removed the paper symbol leaving behind Red where the paper was. I finished it off with a clear sealing coat.

I would say it took about three days of working on this after work to completely finish it, once it was painted I added the hinges back on cut out some foam to fit inside the box then cut out holes to fit the masks. Since one mask is larger than the other and had a mouth piece to be attacked the masks look slightly off as they both sit farther to the right side of the box, but once the mouth piece was added to the mask they fit perfectly. In total this project cost me about $25 worth of material and three days time, it also made a great gift my fiance loved. Store bought gifts might be easier to get and seem like the easy way out but if you really want to pack a punch with a gift I suggest trying out making something handmade next time you need a gift!

July Orange Glad Sweet Box!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Orange Glad for the review free of charge.****

Whether you are on a diet or not you should allow yourself a treat once in a while, I've cut back drastically on how much I have been eating and the treat I offer myself comes once a month and it is the Orange Glad sweets box a monthly subscription of baked goods and confections. Boxes start at $13 a month plus shipping and handling, You will receive five fantastic treats in the mail each month from a number of wonderful companies.

I recently received the July box and was delighted to see that they added a new feature to their box the treats now come in adorable little bags tied with twine, prior to this month they were still packaged nicely in the box but I find the new bags and twine to be more appealing to the eye. This months box contained the following treats:

  •  A Hazelnut cheesecake brownie from Chocolate Maven - This brownie was an ooey gooey delight to eat! It had a rich and creamy taste packed full of flavor, it is one of the best brownies I've had in ages. Even with being made and then shipped to my home it was still moist and tasted as if it was just baked that day.

  • A Cranberry muffin top by Seattle's Favorite Gourmet Cookies and Dessert Co. - I didn't personally eat this one my husband and son enjoyed this together, I was told it had a spongy texture that gave it that light fluffiness like pancakes.

  •  A bag with two Freedom star sugar cookies from Gianna's Homemade Baked Goods - They look as if they would be the harder version of sugar cookies but once you take a bite you find that they are soft and melt in your mouth. They were covered in colored sugar which gave it a cute look and added some extra sweetness to the cookie. I would purchase these cookies again.

  •  A Chocolate Babka from Lily's Bakery Shop - Okay I will admit at first I didn't know what a Babka was to me it just looked like a fancy piece of bread. After trying this out with my kids I found that it is similar to a cinnamon roll just in bread form making it easier to eat. I think this would make a good breakfast treat and would go great with coffee.

  • A Ice Dream Sandwich by Orange glad themselves! I only managed to try a bite of this and thought it had a interesting yet satisfying texture to it, it was sweet and decadent. My one and a half year old then promptly devoured the rest so I can say he loved it.

I personally think the price is worth what you will receive based on how many products you get and the product size. If you want to buy more of one specific item they have many of the products available for sale directly through their website, otherwise you can visit the sponsor companies website. If you are looking for new subscription boxes to purchase this may be one you want to look into getting.

June '14 LootCrate Box Review

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by LootCrate for the review free of charge.****

Lootcrate has always been in my top three subscription boxes list, I do admit not everything in each box caught my fancy but they over all do a fantastic job selecting the products they select. With that said I 100% Loved last month's Lootcrate box, it was Transformers themed! I squealed like a school girl when I found that out. Why? Transformers was a childhood favorite and still is, I even have the Autobot and Decepticons symbols tattooed on my feet. Lootcrate always manages to make me feel like a kid again, I try to avoid any talk about Lootcrate between the 18th and the 21st of the month because I don't want to see spoiler posts. When I know I have a Lootcrate waiting for my in my mail box I become overly excited and start jumping around trying to get it open as if I am ten years old again.

I know have you curious about what was in the June Lootcrate box so let's get down to business shall we? Once the box was open the first thing I spotted was a Transformers mystery figure box, Who could it be? Bumblee Bee, Optimus Prime or possibly Starscream? I received an adorable Megatron. Next out of the box was a MLG [Major League Gaming] wrist band which my one and a half year old thinks is hilarious to wear around the house. Also sitting on top was a Transformers and Back to the Future mash up shirt featuring "Marty McPrime" I love this shirt but since I am seemingly afraid to wear shirts of bright color, I plan to turn this into a pillow which will in the end last longer than a shirt. Under the top three items I found this months Lootcrate Pin, a Autobots car decal/sticker, a Transformer Hexbug , some war heads and some MLG stickers. Want to see pictures of everything? You can view them Here.

My favorite item from the June Lootcrate box is the Transformers Hexbug, my kids and my cat enjoy chasing it around the house. I give the June box a 10 out of 10 it couldn't have been better than it was.I personally think that LootCrate would make a great gift for any comic, video game, or cartoon lover in your family. LootCrate ships to the US,Canada,The United Kingdom and Australia. Loot Crate is $13.37 a month [plus s&h] the site guarantees $20+ worth of goodies in your box You can sign up for just a one time box or you can sign up for 6 months to a years worth of boxes & you can use the code “LunaMoon10” you will receive 10% off of your purchase price. What do you think might be in Next months box?
