Duff Goldman - Baking Duff Cake Mixes Reivew + Giveaway!

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Gartner Studios & Duff for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

I will be the first to admit I am horrible at baking, five years ago I tried to make my fiance a two level black and red cake. It turned out a crumbled pink and purple heap, it still tasted great but looked terrible. Fortunately for me Duff Goldman the cake master has developed a line of easy to follow cake mixes that create works of art, and for those who can't seem to get it right on their own this is perfect. I received a package with two 8" pans, A Pink Camouflage Cake mix, An Apron, Gel Color mix in's, A rainbow tie dye cake mix and two cream cheese frosting's.

I love the way the cakes look in the photos on the box, but I was worried mine would look nothing like it. The first cake I tried was the Rainbow tie dye cake the directions were easy to follow and simple to complete, after mixing up the cake mix you are instructed to pour an even amount (About half a cup) into six different bowls which is where you will mix in the colors. There was exactly enough of the coloring to make each layer of the cake, next was to pour half of each bowl into one of the 8" pans pour each color over the previous one, without mixing it as you go. Your final product will look like the first image below:

After baking for about twenty minutes the cakes were ready to be pulled out to cool down and become frosted. The cakes easily came out of the pans and looked great I was quite excited that so far everything was going well next came frosting and putting the cakes together. For the first layer I decided to go with a blue as the color for my frosting I put part of the white cheese cream frosting into a bowl and used the gel coloring, the first layer looked great and I finally figured out how to get the frosting even without any lumps or chunks missing from the cake. Placing the second layer on top of the first was nerve wrecking but I found the cake held together well and went on without an issue. The outside of the cake was frosted red and was ready to be photographed and consumed. The cake was fluffy, full of flavors and looks spectacular I received quite a few compliments on it and had people asking what I used to do it. I am very happy with this product and would consider buying the Duff products for Birthdays and other celebrations. The cake mixes can be bought directly through the Duff website for $2.99 a box along with the frosting, pans, kits and more!
