Baby's Journey Giveaway and Review

****This was not a paid post and my honest opinion was used. The opinions are solely my own and may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Baby's Journey for the review & giveaway free of charge.****

Before my son was walking he was a handful who was always trying to crawl into the rooms he can't wander into such as the Kitchen. If our cats food & water dish wasn't in an easy to reach place he would be able to crawl around the kitchen, But I don't want him eating cat food so the kitchen is a No-Go. A company called Baby's Journey offered me the perfect solution a one step gate which accommodates doorways, hallways and stairs.. We did previously have a baby gate up, It was wooden, bulky and too tall I am 5'4" and it was hard for me to get over and there was no way my five year old was able to get over it on her own. The old baby gate ruined the wall between the living room & the Kitchen it would push into the plaster creating holes & exposed the metal under it which you can see below:

The One step gate by Baby's Journey doesn't harm my walls at all, it has two fixing cups on each side that meet with the wall one on top and one on bottom which have a flexible plastic seal between it & the wall. Installing this was easy as eating a piece of pie, It comes with two extensions to accommodate larger door ways. My kitchen is just wide enough I couldn't fit it alone yet couldn't use an extension so the fixing cups worked perfectly. The gate has a secure foot mechanism which allows for quick and hassle free installation it was a nice change just stepping on it vs trying to push the bar down into place. I am very happy I no longer have to climb over a difficult baby gate to get in and out of the kitchen now I just lift up the gate and walk through, I can even do it while holding my son. This has also been helpful for my daughter as she can open and close the gate on her own which made her happy because it means she can go grab her own juice boxes. I personally love this baby gate and have already received compliments on it. As you can see in the photo below the cats food dish is in a very easy to reach spot which is why the kitchen is off limits to the little guy. I like this gate a lot more than my old one not only because it doesn't destroy my walls and is easy to set up and walk through but also because it allows my son to see the person on the other side better because the bars are farther apart letting him watch everything that is going on.
